Crotone The Ionic coastal area is particularly rich with references from legendary past, where ancient writers attribute to a contemporary age following soon after the Troy war. Baia degli Dei rises around sites charmed with millennial history of the Mediterranean civilization still visible in present day. Not so far (20km) stands "Capo Colonna" and its ruins of the ancient temple of Heara Lacinia once composed of 16 golden age columns. Hannible visited this site before returning to Africa after the defeats suffered by Romans. |
